We spotted a pair of these the other day on the little lake in the middle of the village. A Ring-necked Duck — first time I’ve ever spotted one.
We have tree ducks that come to our church every year. They were up on the roofline when I arrived at 7 this morning.
I’ve been blogging for around three years now, mainly on Anabaptist themes. But I’m also keen birdwatcher when I get the chance. I live beside Epping Forest in London. I did enjoy your lovely Ring-necked duck. We don’t get them here; only Tufted Ducks which are quite similar. I’ve been saddened by the loss of many of our birds recently so have posted about this: http://radref.blogspot.com/2011/03/new-silent-spring.html
Phil, thanks for your comment. We enjoyed many visits to Attenborough outside Nottingham.
