From Ephesus to Rhodes

From Ephesus to Rhodes April 30, 2017

Screen Shot 2017-04-25 at 3.45.59 PMKris and I greet you with a hearty “Kalimera” this Sunday morning from the northern tip of the island of Rhodes where we are staying in Rhodes Town (“Rodos” on the map). Kos is on map too.

Rhodes was brief stop of Paul’s on his way to Jerusalem with the collection for the saints.

Acts 20:36    When Paul had finished speaking, he knelt down with all of them and prayed. 37 They all wept as they embraced him and kissed him. 38 What grieved them most was his statement that they would never see his face again. Then they accompanied him [from Ephesus] to the ship.

Acts 21:1    After we had torn ourselves away from them, we put out to sea and sailed straight to Kos. The next day we went to Rhodes and from there to Patara.

And the prayer for today from the BCP

O God, whose blessed Son made himself known to his disciples in the breaking of bread:

Open the eyes of our faith, that we may behold him in all his redeeming work;

who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

one God, now and for ever.

Amen.
