Denton CUUPS Tarot Classes

Dolores Nabors

I know, most of you who read this blog aren’t anywhere close to Denton, Dallas, Fort Worth, McKinney, or any of the other cities in North Texas. I post these events because a few of you are local, but mainly to say “this is what one moderately active Pagan group does.”

So, if you are in the North Texas area, I encourage you to join us for our Introduction to Tarot class starting next Wednesday, March 21 and running for seven weeks. The details are on the flyer (click on the image for a larger, sharper version), and you’re welcome to contact me with any questions.

I can’t say enough good things about our teacher Dolores Nabors. Dolores has been reading and teaching Tarot for 32 years, and she’s been an active member of Denton CUUPS for almost eight years. While her classes are grounded in the basics of Tarot common to most approaches, her teachings and her readings don’t come from books. They come from Spirit. Dolores is a constant reminder to me that it’s not enough to think – you also have to listen.

I’m going to take the class again as a refresher. If you’re interested in participating, please contact me directly to register.

And if you’re not in this area and nobody is doing stuff like this where you live, maybe you should start!

About John Beckett

I’m a Druid in the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids. I’m an ordained priest in the Universal Gnostic Fellowship. I’m the Coordinating Officer of the Denton, Texas Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans. This year I’m also serving as a member of the Board of Trustees of CUUPS National. I’m a member of the Denton Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.

I write as a spiritual practice. It helps me organize my thoughts and work through ideas and concepts. It helps me evaluate my beliefs and practices against my core values and against what I know (or at least, what I think I know) to be true. It helps me interpret my experiences (religious and otherwise) in ways that are both meaningful and honest.
