Ostara Soundtrack

Thanks to all who came out to last night’s Denton CUUPS Ostara Circle. It was a very nice turnout, especially considering it was Saint Patrick’s Day and some of our regular folks had obligations elsewhere.

Here are last night’s Songs of Ostara.

Prelude: Le Mystere Des Voix Bulgares (The Bulgarian Female Vocal Choir) – Polegnala E Todora (Love Song)

Meditation: Julianna Barwick – Cloak

Main Working: David Arkenstone – The Dragon’s Breath

Simple Feast: Sheebeg Sheemore

We played a harp version by Sarah Marie Mullen, but that one doesn’t appear to be on YouTube. Here’s a rather similar version that almost sounds too soft to be Omnia.

Postlude: We Won’t Wait Any Longer. The original is by Gwydion Pendderwen. Here’s the rendition used at the closing of Isaac Bonewits‘ memorial service in 2010. If you ignore all the other videos on the page, watch this one: for the music, for the beautiful ADF ritual, and for Isaac.

I write as a spiritual practice. It helps me organize my thoughts and work through ideas and concepts. It helps me evaluate my beliefs and practices against my core values and against what I know (or at least, what I think I know) to be true. It helps me interpret my experiences (religious and otherwise) in ways that are both meaningful and honest.
