How John McCain Sees Barack Obama

The above is a picture of:

A. How John Mcain Sees Barack Obama: lightweight, disconcertingly cute, easily squashable, just a shade too pale

B. The most adorable little thing ever to eat its way through your intestines

C. An axolotl, the best-known of the Mexican neotenic mole salamanders

D. Your brain on drugs

seee? He's cute. Until he opens his mouth and there will be some unbelievably sharp teeth to tear you apart with.

  • Kinda reminds me of that Pokemon show… which was (IS?) someone's brain on drugs… so yeah, D.

  • What a great imagination you have . . . kudos for the courage to publicize it!

  • John,

Now I have a picture to show people when they ask what's eating me.

    Thanks.

    -Sam

  • John, How can we ever thank you for bringing such enlivened and deeply penetrating conversation to the forefront of the political landscape that looms before us? You've given us much to think about and I for one thank you. You are a fine human John Shore.

    and a Knucklehead.

  • E) What people really mean when they say "I've a bit of a frog in my throat."

  • What great, funny, clever, thoughtful and kind comments you gave, Arlywyn, Ric, Greta, Sam, and Lindsey! Thanks to each of you!

Oh. And Anita's here too, I see. Well. Isn't that special.

  • Ouch.

:::::removing poison arrow from my spleen:::::

    Ahhh…there….much better 🙂

John, seriously….how much would you miss me if I were gone? Dare to imagine the nightmare of that and then put aside your worries because I'm not going anywhere.

    ever.

  • Hmm. Well, you've asked me to take seriously how much I'd miss you if you were gone, so of course the only honorable thing is for me to do that.

So I need to plumb the depths of my true feelings toward you.

I know what'll do the trick! Free association!

    So. Here we go:

    Anita.

    A-need-ta.

    I need ta.

    I need ta.

    I need ta-tas.

    Oh my God.

    Don't ever leave.

  • lol @ John and Anita.

Really, you two. Let's all be honest about how we feel and just have one big happy pajama party! I'll bring the ice cream! (And the poisoned dart gun for when things go south after 2am, as they generally do.)

  • Oh, I totally disagree. Is it EVER not right to add a flannel-clad chubby lesbian eating ice cream to the mix?

    No.

  • Lynn

Are you guys having fun yet?

I wonder if this adorable creature's photo has been 'altered' a bit? Or maybe the question should be, what is it smiling about? lol.

[Thanks John for sharing this pic with us…it made me smile today. My son-in-law had an emergency appendectomy and a hernia repair on Saturday, he also had a couple of allergic reactions to the antibiotics they were giving him, but was discharged home this afternoon, praise God.]

  • John, I actually think that's against the law in Wyoming, North Dakota, and scattered parts of the Mississippi Delta.

And Arlywn, that was funny. At least I think so.

  • Ha Ha ! Awesome. I'm going to go with "A", which I think

is very similar to "D". Cute. I'm going to be smiling for the

rest of the day ! 🙂

  • Yikes, Lynn: That is soooooo scary. Man. Terrifying stuff. Thank God, as you say, that it sounds like he came out okay. Nice.

This IS a rather hilarious series of comments, if I do say so myself. Nice again!

    "just a shade too pale"

Kindly explain what that is supposed to mean?

  • Job

  • A long time ago–like, I don't know, 20, 25 years ago–McCain, as a congressman from Arizona, voted against a national holdiday in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. I've always disliked him for that vote. I'm sure–well, of course I'm not sure sure, but I'm certainly willing to assume–that McCain's not actually a racist; I assume he had perfectly good, rational, non-racist reasons for not thinking the MLK holiday was a good idea, and that it's for those reasons he voted against it. But I still don't like him because of that vote. If he's not a racist (and, again, I don't think he is), it kind of made him, for at least that little while there, SEEM, to people who are sensitive to those kinds of signals, as if he were.

If McCain were a racist (and, again, I'm NOT SAYING HE IS), then he would think that Barack Obama shouldn't be president. Moreover, he would think that a black man COULDN'T be president, because he simply wouldn't be electable.

So the joke, see, refers to the idea of McCain secretly desiring Obama to be darker than he is, so that he wouldn't be such a formidable political opponent.

Of course, see, if you have to explain a joke, it's like running over it with a steam oller. So NOW it won't seem funny.

Anyway, hope that explanation soothes what I can only assume is your … well, imperious indignation. Unless you didn't intend, "Kindly explain what that is supposed to mean?" to be understood as having been delivered in the tone of someone with a stick up their rear-end. If you DIDN'T mean it in that aggressive, supercilious, emotionally hostile way, then do forgive my reading it that way. One of the problems with this form of communication!

  • I read the "shade too pale"as a tongue in cheek jab at the fact that certain kinds of people are actively trying to urbanize Obama to try to erase the fact that his mother was whiter than mayonaisse.

The joke was funny because of how obviously silly of a claim it made. Perhaps Job is unfamiliar with the brand of humor that finds it's roots in saying things which are obviously outrageous, like a cranky old man saying that he doesn't want to go outside on a sunny day because it may rain. It's funny because everyone knows how patently ridiculous it is.

Not that you're patently ridiculous, John. As far as I know, that patent is still pending.

  • Dear Mr. Gilbert, Sir,

While I'm sure you're a fine and good person, what in the world were you thinking of when you encourag him to continue on with this blogmania? Oh man.

If I drank this would be the time I'd drink something straight up (and John, don't even touchthat!) As it is, I'm going to go throw my head into a bag of microwave popcorn and pray this all passes soon.

And by the by John, I took the comment as Lindsey did. And Lindsey, it's been approved and filed; patent number 58345932-A6.

  • I need ta-tas.

“John. John. John.,” she said with a patronizing sigh.

Lindsey, please have the poisoned dart gun at the ready asap. I think 2am might be too late. And wear jammies around John? Oh. I don’t think so. I’m picturing a hidden digital camera and grist for the continuation of this mildly disturbed series. The snot blobs have been more than enough to turn most stomachs. We don’t need to add a flannel-clad chubby lesbian to the mix.

    Speaking of ice cream….

  • arlywn

which mix are we talking about? cause I think if that mix is oily rags and flames…. then yes, it is not right at all.

But!!!!!!!!! If this mix happens to have scary movies and….. martinies-then no. it isnt right at all….

wait…. did I just confuse my self?

  • John,

I’ve enjoyed all of this series and would be curious to see 1) how John McCain sees his consituents and of course 2) How Barack Obama sees his constituents. You’ll be graded on accuracy.

  • What would be funny, too, is how Obama sees McCain’s constituents, and visa-versa.

    Man. That’s … sweet. THANKS!

  • lol @ Anita:

I can just see this blog’s new tagline: “Suddenly Christian- patently ridiculous since 2008! (US# 58345932-A6)

  • Lindsey, A GREAT idea! It might be time for John to put together a new masthead!

  • It’s like you guys are funny–but different.

  • It’s like you guys are funny–but different.

  • Amen and amen! Obama has no experience in dealing in the arena of foreign affairs. How can he make decisions based on that? Secondly, he cannot approximate McCain's military experience which gives McCain an edge on being the Commander-in-Chief!

  • Yeah, Hjordes.

  • Yeah, Hjordes.

  • Monico Imperial

Looks are deceiving, but looking at the picture through McCain’s eyes, that’s exactly the image he visualizes,” OBAMAN”, he’s just plain………what is he anyway!

    Sigh….

  • Candace

Maybe Dawn is a dry Midwesterner, too?

    If not … sorry, dude.

But then, HEY, there are so many who DO get it. AND, you went into a supply closet 12 years ago and came out a new creation.

    So it’s all good 😉
