In a special edition of ABC News’ “20/20,” airing Friday, Sept. 4, anchor David Muir — who was raised Catholic, but no word on whether he still practices the Faith — sits down at the Vatican with Pope Francis to answer satellite questions from Americans, in advance of the pontiff’s first visit to the U.S. in September (the actual event took place on Monday, Aug. 31).

From ABC News:

The event was moderated from inside the Vatican by ABC News’ “World News Tonight” anchor David Muir, as the pontiff engaged via satellite with individuals from three different groups: students at the Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Chicago’s inner city, congregants from a McAllen, Texas, church located near the U.S.-Mexico border and homeless men and women and those working with the homeless in Los Angeles.

ABC News will also post the show in its entirety, both in English and Spanish, on ABCNews.com.

The pope lands in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 22. Before he departs on Sept. 27, he will address a Joint Session of Congress and the United Nations, participate in a 9/11 memorial service, and visit the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Here’s Muir’s announcement:
