I love the Mall of America!  Well, actually, I have two favorite spots there:  I love the restaurant at Nordstrom’s, where  they serve up a great salmon salad with a smile.  And down the aisle, I love to catch a good bargain at Nordstrom’s Rack, where designer-quality clothing and housewares can be found at discount-store prices.  And of course, the amusement park that fills the center court is a great spot for people-watching!I’ve just read, though, that the Mall of America now has one more … [Read more...]

The news this week has been full of celebrity passings:Rev. Sun Myun Moon, founder of the Unification Church and self-proclaimed messiah, dead at 92. Michael Clarke Duncan, Academy Award-nominated star of “The Green Mile”, dead at 54 after suffering a myocardial infarction back in July 2012. Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon, passed away August 25 at the age of 82. Phyllis Diller, one of the great women of comedy, died August 20 at the age of 95. The Regina Coeli (“Queen of Heaven”) is a traditional Marian prayer. During the Easter season (from Easter until Pentecost), the Regina Coeli is recited in place of the Angelus, that ancient prayer of the Church which has traditionally been recited at noon and again at 6:00 p.m.The prayer dates back to at least the 1200s.
