Sergio Garcia Wins Byron Nelson as Jordan Spieth Struggles

Sergio Garcia Wins Byron Nelson as Jordan Spieth Struggles May 22, 2016

Today, Spaniard Sergio Garcia won the AT&T Byron Nelson tournament on the PGA Tour at Dallas, Texas. Garcia won on the first playoff hole with Brooks Koepka. Koepka drove into the water while Garcia drove safely into the fairway and made an easy par for the win. It was his second Nelson title, winning twelve years ago, in 2004.

Number 2 world pro golfer and Dallas native Jordan Spieth continued his poor play by shooting a 74 Sunday. The big talk about Jordan Spieth right now is that he is struggling with his swing. He says he and swing coach Cameron McCormick thought they had “fixed” his swing this week, but it didn’t look like it today. Television commentators said he continues to miss-hit a lot of shots to the right. See my remarks about this posted on April 10, 2016, entitled “Jordan Spieth and His Blocky Left Arm,” and on January 11, 2016, entitled”Jordan Spieth Still Dominates.”
