Is the Kremlin Blackmailing Donald Trump? January 11, 2017

DonaldTrumpHeadshotA 35-page “dossier” authored by a former British intelligence agent (a spy) claims that Russian intelligence agents have been “cultivating” Donald Trump, who is now the U.S. President elect, for at least the past five years. It also says this activity has been directed and overseen by Russia’s President Vladimir Putin. And this dossier–which is a series of memos written over a period of time and then pieced together–provides some specific information about how this was done. If some of these allegations prove true, it raises the question about why Donald Trump, during his election campaign for U.S. president and after his win, has often expressed his being “a fan” of Mr. Putin. Is this because Mr. Trump knew of these allegations and knew they were true? If so, Russia’s President Putin has strong evidence to blackmail President-elect Donald Trump.

Last Friday, the four top U.S. intelligence agents–directors of the CIA, FBI, NSA, and National Intelligence–held a private meeting attended by U.S. President Barak Obama, Donald Trump, and eight U.S. senators. The directors informed the others that this 35-page dossier has been circulating for months in Washington, D.C. so that it is becoming well known among U.S. intelligence agents and members of the U.S. Congress.

This Friday’s meeting was made known to American public just hours ago today. These directors told those attending it that they had investigated the author of the dossier and found him to be reliable in his past intelligence investigations and reports of them. Among other things, he was a premier British spy who operated in Russia during the 1990s. This dossier represents a series of “memos” he wrote over a period of time and then pieced together. They are reports of his investigations which consist primarily of his interviews of spies, including former Russian spies, government employees, and others, which includes some eyewitnesses.

The FBI has been investigating many matters reported in this dossier and is continuing to do so. When FBI Director Comey was asked today if the FBI is investigating alleged tradeoff of information between Donald Trump’s political campaign and the Kremlin as reported in the dossier, Mr. Comey refused to comment on that, only saying it is the FBI’s policy not to comment on ongoing investigations. Yet he had done such commenting months earlier regarding the Hilary Clinton emails.

One troubling report in the dossier involves how the Kremlin has amassed evidence on Donald Trump that it could use to blackmail him. It is that in 2013, the Miss Universe pageant, which Trump then owned, was hosted in Moscow. Trump attended it and stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in central Moscow. U.S. President Barak Obama and his wife Michelle had visited Moscow in 2009, shortly after Barak became president, and they stayed in the “presidential suite” at that hotel. The memo in the dossier claims that in that 2013 Trump visit to Moscow, he rented the same presidential suite. It then says he did so because he hated Barak and Michelle Obama. The memo says Trump then hired prostitutes to “defile the bed” where the Obamas had slept by them urinating on it in front of Trump as he viewed their performance. The memo says Russia’s FSB, the former KGB of the Soviet Union, had the room bugged with microphones and cameras. So, the agents obtained both sound and visual evidence of that proceeding. The report explains that the Kremlin knew of Trump’s bazaar sexual practices and that its intelligence agents had evidence of Trump on business trips to Russia at other times with prostitutes.

Of course, we the U.S. public do not know if any such allegations in this dossier are true. Trump’s televised statements about how he groped women did not sink his political campaign for president. But this is much worse. And it raises the question about whether or not Donald Trump has been trashing the media as a bunch of liars due to the possibility of such allegations as in this dossier surfacing to become public knowledge. Today, BuzzFeed published the entire 35-page dossier whereas the intelligence directors only published a two-page summary of it today.

This evening, Mr. Trump tweeted concerning this dossier, “FAKE NEWS–A TOTAL POLITICAL WITCH HUNT.” I hope he’s right even though I didn’t vote for him.

I would think the first piece of evidence to check out would be if Donald Trump really did rent that presidential suite. It seems the FBI could learn the truth about that, especially since Ritz-Carlton hotels are a subsidiary of Marriott International, an American corporation founded by John Willard Marriott, Sr, a devout Mormon. If Trump did rent that room, that would cause a lot of Americans to conclude that this story has legs. And if such things as this really occurred with Donald Trump–who is to be inaugurated in nine days as President of the United States of America–and the FBI can prove it, GOD HELP AMERICA!
