I recently read James D.G. Dunn’s book entitled Jesus and the Spirit: A Study of the Religious and Charismatic Experience of Jesus and the First Christians as Reflected in the New Testament, published in 1975. Chuck Smith Dies at Age 86

Chuck Smith died this morning at his home in Newport Beach, California, at 86 years of age. He was the founder and pastor of Calvary Church in Costa Mesa, California, which began in 1965. It became one of the first mega-churches which subsequently resulted in the creation of a movement of Calvary churches which now number over 1,000.
