A new fucking life

As my tears evaporate
into a beautiful, briny mask
my will transcends the pit of despair
toward fucking awesome dreams

As my memory clears
from the wreckage of you
my spirit unfurls with growing delight
into a fucking beautiful flower

As my heart is exposed
to the possibility of hope
my imagination soars
to new fucking heights

As my soul is drawn
to the infinite blue canopy
my heart surges with blazing truth
this is a big fucking world

About Kimberly Knight

Kimberly has a long history of back-pew sitting, Wednesday night supper eatin' and generally trying God’s patience since 1969. She's lucky enough to have made her technology addiction a career and serves as both the Director of Digital Strategy as a southern liberal arts college and Minister of Digital community with Extravagance UCC.

I never have liked fences, but we’re forced to have them, now that gamboling about plain and forest foraging a free lunch off the land is prohibited. A fence really is a F-U to all comers.

Strangely, it gives evidence that the grass really is greener on the other side; otherwise, why have a fence?

Hope and pain all wrapped up in one neat package. Well written!

The poem rocks. The only jarring thing is scrolling down to your standard author pic just below.

Well yes, she is unreasonably chipper eh?

      • cassandratoday

More chipper than I have visualized her lately. But maybe it’s a good idea for her to keep that pic, as sort of a goal-setting exercise. :)

Well said. And the picture is brilliant!!
