This atheist is reading Genesis chapters 25-26 today. What do we find out in these two chapters? Abraham’s wife and half-sister, Sarah, is still dead. Abraham dies. Isaac does the same dickbag move his dad did to the same king and there’s some racism that you may have missed.
Also, Rebekah’s two sons don’t always get along. Take this example when Esau sells his birthright to Isaac for some soup:
Once when Jacob was cooking stew, Esau came in from the field, and he was exhausted. And Esau said to Jacob, “Let me eat some of that red stew, for I am exhausted!” (Therefore his name was called Edom.[e]) Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright now.” Esau said, “I am about to die; of what use is a birthright to me?” Jacob said, “Swear to me now.” So he swore to him and sold his birthright to Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew, and he ate and drank and rose and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright. – Genesis 25: 29-34
Are you having trouble making sense of those verses? Then you’re probably going to hell!
In all reality, the soup controversy is linked to some good olde fashioned biblical racism!
“Them Edomites are a bunch of stupid soup eaters,” – anonymous Ancient Jew.
