John Oliver Explains The Iran Deal To Trump

John Oliver explains the mishegas (Yiddish for crazy) between Iran and Trumperica in this video Iran Deal: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO).

Be aware, there are comedic levels of cursing. It isn’ safe for work.

Let’s say you are at work and can’t watch the video. We can check out the Washington Times piece John Oliver wants to educate Trump, so he bought ads on Sean Hannity’s show.

John Oliver plans to air Trump-mocking public service announcements — in which a cowboy explains basic concepts to the president — on Fox News host Sean Hannity’s show this week, in hopes Trump will see them and avoid a nuclear crisis.

President Trump’s political base as well as his close confidantes (Sean Hannity included) hate the Iran Deal. It’s not hard to understand why. The deal isn’t a slam dunk win for the US. It was a negotiated settlement. Negotiated settlements and unconditional victories are two very different things.

The deal, struck in 2015 between Iran and six world powers including the United States, suspended economic sanctions against the theocracy in exchange for restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program — including regular inspections to make sure that its government does not try to develop nuclear weapons.

As John Oliver points out, it’s the difference between Iran getting a nuclear weapon within 0 years and Iran possibly getting a nuclear weapon in 10 years.

To communicate basic facts about the deal to President Trump John Oliver is bringing back the Catheter Cowboy.

Will the Catheter Cowboy affect national policy? It’s doubtful. But an important part of being a comedian is being the opening act for the band on the Titanic. We’ll all have a pleasant chuckle before the iceberg hits.

In related news, I have a special Spuds Hannity comic to mark the occasion.

And last of all I wanted to share a comic I helped inspire from Pliny the in Between!
