From the Pontifical Council for Social Communications comes an offer for all of us to participate in the May 17 World Communications Day in a special way:

Vatican City (PCCS) – Communicating the Family: A Privileged Place of Encounter with the Gift of Love is the theme chosen by Pope Francis for the2015 World Communications Day to be celebrated on 17 May, the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord. As in previous years, the Pontifical Council for Social Communications (PCCS) is encouraging everyone around the globe to share pastoral resources prepared by journalists and media offices of the local church. Links to these resources will be featured on the Council’s website, www.pccs.va. Of particular interest are audiovisual or multimedia presentations on the theme.

One of the roles of the PCCS is to “encourage and support the Church, and her faithful, in the production and distribution of the many forms of communication which exist”. Dioceses, communities, associations, and other Church communicators are welcome to share with us links to the pastoral resources they have prepared on the theme to info@intermirifica.net. The information will be posted on our website:www.pccs.va.

Since this year’s theme is “Communicating the Family”, I’d love to see youtube videos by families and family ministries on how our homes are truly the first schools of social communications!
