My Top Nine Posts of 2014

My Top Nine Posts of 2014 January 4, 2015

This year Love, Joy, Feminism had over five million pageviews. Today I want to share my nine most popular posts. I’m always excited to tally this up at the end of the year, and this year is no exception!

9. Teaching Consent to Small Children

I’m not really surprised by this one. People generally seem to like my posts on teaching consent, along with other posts on parenting without fear.

8. A Letter to My Parents

Now this one did surprise me. Why? Because it’s not even a post! It’s actually a page, and not one I widely advertised! I briefly linked it in my about page, and then took it out. I have no idea what happened here.

7. On the Duggars and the Locus of Outrage

For whatever reason, my Duggar posts tend to be widely read.

6. What Kirk Cameron Doesn’t Know about Ben and Jessa Duggar

You see what I’m saying?

5. Pastor Mark Driscoll Called Women “Penis Homes”

This was my attempt at a click-bait title. It seems to have worked, but I think I’m still against click-bait titles. Perhaps I’m a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to blogging?

4. How I Lost Faith in the Pro-Life Movement

This is the third year in a row this post has made my top ten list. It’s not surprising considering that it caused a bit of a phenomenon when I first wrote it. I’d tell you that I’m in the process of writing a followup post titled “How To Argue with Pro-Lifers (and Win),” but then I’d actually have to finish my draft of said post.

3. Carefully Scripted Lives: My Concerns about the Duggars

See above re. the Duggars.

2. Bill Gothard: Sexual Predator

Ah yes. The Bill Gothard scandal. A lot has happened in the last year, hasn’t it?

1. An Open Letter to Duggar Defenders

And . . . see above.

So how about you all? What of my writing over the past year have you liked best? What would you like to see me write about in the coming year? I’m all ears!
