And the Best Twitter Thread of the Week Goes to … the Chicago Police Department! April 20, 2017

Tweets from the Chicago Police Department don’t usually have me in stitches, but twitter users’ responses to a tweet CPD posted on a recent gun confiscation had me on the floor. The CPD posted a picture of what appear to be two antique guns and two bags of marijuana with the text “Great intel lead to a positive search warrant for the 1063 team in the 10th District. Weapons and drugs recovered.” Twitter users who saw the tweet were not impressed—and they let the CPD know in style.

Several twitter users asked whether the CPD’s account had been hacked; this does not, however, appear to be the case. While it is possible that this was posted as humor, there is nothing to indicate such. Apparently the war on guns is also a war on antiques. And the war on drugs—as several twitter users noted—still includes marijuana.
