The Demonic Power of Symbols: Christian Blogger Warns of the Dangers of Mandala Coloring Books

Several months ago a group of Tibetan Buddhist monks visited our Unitarian Universalist church. It was fascinating to watch, and I enjoyed experiencing a taste of another culture's traditions and beliefs. When I was a girl, my aunt came to visit my family. She was reading Harry Potter and had brought the book with her, but my parents made her leave it in t … [Read more...]

Lesbian Duplex 56: An Open Thread

It’s time for another Lesbian Duplex thread! If you have a link or article or interesting thought that’s not relevant to an ongoing thread, you can share it here. If a conversation on another post has turned entirely off topic, you can bring it here also. Every so often, as the number of comments on a given Lesbian Duplex post becomes unmanageable, I put up a fresh post. I’ve added a “chatter” tab under my blog banner that will direct readers to these discussion threads, so no one will have to wo … [Read more...]

Anonymous Tip: Too Much Mooning to Lawyer

A Review Series of Anonymous Tip, by Michael FarrisPp. 213-218It's Thursday now, and Peter has received a Notice of Appearance from Matt Bartholomew and Gail Willet. Anonymous Tip: Lynn and Gwen Start a Bible Study

A Review Series of Anonymous Tip, by Michael FarrisPp. 208-213I'm going to skim over a few pages here first, because I really don't want to bore you. We learn that Gordon has "gotten desperate for cash again" and has taken "the three to eleven shift at a 7-11 five blocks from his home." Farris tells us that Gordon buys "two large bottles of beer" after his shift each day and drinks both when he gets home. On this particular day, he stepped outside the door to get the newspaper---I didn't … [Read more...]
