Why Air Travel Can Make You Feel Like Crap, and How to Fix It

I fly a fair amount. Experiencing new cities and countries is exciting, but the air travel part has become somewhat unpleasant. Below I outline why I feel some airlines are poisoning their guests in an effort to kill germs in between flights.

I usually book United Airlines for domestic flights, and Lufthansa for international ones because I enjoy German engineering and efficiency. This habit has allowed me to see the following pattern: When I fly United I have to deal with migraine headaches and nausea the day of or one day after arrival. With Lufthansa I’ve never had an issue (they’re also on time, which I can’t say for United but that’s for another post).

Now why have I kept on flying United if I feel terrible afterwards? It’s a sneaky pattern, you see. I don’t always get sick; sometimes I get to my destination and I’m fine. Fact is, though, that I’ve had to deal with toxic overload often enough after a flight with United that this issue has come to my attention.

I’m not here to play the blame game; rather, I want to shed light on an issue that’s potentially affecting thousands of people. I’m the canary in the goldmine. Since I take good care of myself and keep my environment as free of toxic burdens as I possibly can, I’m not numbed by constant exposure. That’s why whatever they spray on planes to “clean” them in between flights impacts me a lot more than the average Joe. But I can’t be the only one.

I would guess that American airlines use more toxic disinfection methods than European ones but I’d have to do research to prove that. In the same vein, though, US farmers tend to GMO the soul out of their crops, while GMOs are banned in Europe. In the US, cosmetics companies can use over 1000 harmful ingredients which have been outlawed in Europe. I don’t think it’s far-fetched to assume that the degree of questionable ingredients used in cleaning agents is far greater in the United States than in Europe. I’m not pointing fingers; I’m pointing out areas where we can dramatically improve. Imagine the states of high performance we could reach if our systems weren’t burdened by toxins. Just like our computers need updates to run at peak level, we, too, need to upgrade our operating systems.

I want us all to feel good when we reach our destinations. If I hadn’t had my Kyani Nitro Xtreme handy on the plane, which I took to better deal with jet lag and support my body’s energy, I wouldn’t have been able to go through my day of meetings. I would’ve had to stay home in bed with the blinds down. But, frankly, I was beside myself; I operated at about 50% capacity. That’s beautifully illustrated by the fact that I went through a whole day of migraine headaches and nausea until reaching for my activated charcoal to get the poison out of my body. Usually, that’s my first line of defense along with detoxifying chlorella a couple of hours after. But when your brain is compromised by toxic overload you can’t think clearly. Can you relate?

Over to you: Have you ever got migraine headaches with bouts of nausea after air travel? Which airlines did you fly? Do you know what they’re spraying on planes to kill germs?

Let’s bring this issue to light so we can fix it. Poisoning passengers in an effort to kill germs is outrageous and irresponsible.
