Bryan Cranston shows how to be anti-Trump while being totally cool about it May 21, 2016

Actor Bryan Cranston just did something impossible for most Hollywood leftists: he criticized a Republican while keeping it classy.

He was being interviewed on CNN about his upcoming role in the HBO film All the Way where he will portray President Lyndon B. Johnson when the subject of Donald Trump came up. This is normally where Hollywood elitists would lose their minds — right, Rob Reiner? — but Cranston kept his cool and opted to state his difference of opinion while being complimentary in the process:

“So I will say right here, right now, on national television, that I believe Donald Trump loves this country. I truly believe that and I know he does.”

I’m sure all at CNN were squirming in their seats at such a suggestion. Then Cranston followed with his critique:

“It’s just his approach to how to remedy America’s problems differ greatly from what I think should happen.”

Cranston proved the larger point that disagreeing with another’s viewpoint doesn’t mean them a villain:

“I want to promulgate the idea that just because someone has a different opinion than yours it does not make them the enemy.”

As Independent Journal noted, Cranston is very consistent in his philosophies. Last year when Trump first entered the race, the actor spoke positively about him saying he liked his “candor” but not his policies.

“There’s something so refreshing about shaking up that world that is all about being handled and here comes this loose cannon who has terrible ideas and would be a horrible president, but there’s something great about his ‘I-don’t-give-a-s***’ attitude that really kind of keeps others honest,” Cranston said.

And that’s how it’s done, people. If more of Hollywood would have this guy’s attitude, we might get along better.

Thanks, Heisenberg!
