Unleash the Power of the Blog!

…to build up the Body of Christ! Okay here’s the story: I need to hear from you folks who live in the Willamette Valley in Oregon. I got an email with a (not unheard of) lament and it’s you guys who hold the key to helping him. He writes:

I am looking for input on a problem I am having in my study of the >Catholic faith. I have been a fundamentlaist protestant for 29 years >since I was in my early twentys. And I carry a lot of fundamentlist >baggage. I have been studying your faith and find some of the biblical >support against a few of the key protestant beliefs (sola scriptura, >sola fidae etc.) compelling. I have been attending mass for the past 6 >months with my wife who was raised in a catholic home. I live in a >small community in the Willamette Valley in Oregon. My problem is that >I am dying from a lack of fellowship in this hard journey. There are so >many layers of the catholic faith and it is hard to make this journey >alone. My wife is there for me, but does not understand my difficulty >in working through these faith issues. The people that I attend Mass >with seem content to go to church on Sunday and leave it at that. I don’t know how others >make it through this process without some kind of like minded >fellowship. Any ideas would be appreciated.

My one request: no internet site recommendations. This guy needs real flesh-and-blood human contact. If you can give it to him, then please, remember the gospel (“I was in prison and you visited me. Inasmuch as you did it to the least of my brethren, etc.” “Love one another”) and email me your contact information that I can forward to him so y’all can connect. Believe me, I’ve been in this guy’s shoes and you can make a difference between his remaining in the Faith or shriveling up and dying. Do it today.
