I don’t have a prenup

I don’t want a prenup. I don’t have to have a prenup. Mrs. Kerry, you can put your prenup where the sun don’t shine. Prenups are for a culture that has put ultimate faith, not in love, but in law. It is the mark of our irrational faith that punishment and pound of flesh tomorrow will make up for our rejection of prudence and chastity today. A couple that builds its relationship on a prenup is a couple that should never marry in the first place. There is a fundamental distrust at the heart of the relationship that is poison to real love.
