Because I don’t think people should get fired for saying this:
This is the Chomsky narrative of 20 years ago detailed in his book “Manufacturing Consent” and illustrated in a documentary on Chomsky of the same name. I say this as a compliment. Chomsky says similarly still. The Catholic Worker has remained. There are co-belligerents on the left.
Was he fired? I checked his own site and there was no mention. His show was canceled back earlier in the year, but he has since been given other assignments. Just trying to find out where and when this happened.
No, he was not fired; see what I posted below. That is an internet rumor/conspiracy theory floated by fans of his show after its cancellation.
Update: Judge Napolitano was on the panel on Special Report with Bret Baier tonight. He’s clearly still employed by Fox News and functioning as a contributor.
What if Judge Napolitano didn’t use so many rhetorical questions?
Hadn’t seen this. It is wonderful.
The Judge is great on a lot of things, and overall I really like him, but there is political change at the margins from voting for Romney. I am talking about Supreme Court Justices, of course.
The world will not change overnight from an election between a mediocre at best and a bad choice. That doesn’t mean NO change will happen and it’s pointless.
Since I’m in the military and my vote doesn’t really count (since they don’t get counted unless it is a really close race I guess) I will vote Ron Paul, but I hope to see a Romney win come November. I think.
Supreme Court Justices have very little power in a United States without a constitution where the President can deem random people to be terrorists and detain them indefinitely without trial or even just send a predator drone to take them out.
It’s a brave new world, that has such men in it.
Ted, I disagree. Yes, the puzzle pieces are moving into place to make our nation less safe. Nevertheless, I’ll take Justices who vote closer in line with the Church than the libs Obama will put in there…especially with Kennedy getting older.
Also, the Mexico City policy should get reversed, putting less American money into abortion services and providers.
Don’t expect the world, but at least keep in mind there are marginal boons that will help people.
Right Jeff, we can trust the Republicans to appoint justices. Let me hearken back to Roe vs. Wade for a moment:
Harry Blackmun Appointed by Eisenhower – Republican
Lewis F. Powell, Jr Appointed by Nixon – Republican
William J. Brennan, Jr. Appointed by Eisenhower – Republican
Potter Stewart Appointed by Eisenhower – Republican
Warren E. Burger Appointed by Nixon – Republican
William O. Douglas Appointed by Roosevelt – Democrat
Thurgood Marshall Appointed by Johnson – Democrat
Byron White Appointed by Kennedy – Democrat
William Rehnquist Appointed by Nixon – Republican
When I try to play the video, I get a blank black box.
It’s a conspiracy, obviously.
Sadly the Judge was fired from Fox News Channel a few months ago for saying what he did in the above clip. Fox News is have problems with the Rupert Murdock scandal in Britain over News Of the World. I also thing the Judge was let go because of his support of Ron Paul and his viewpoints. But we also know that when it comes to this Election “it ain’t over until it’s over” The mainstream media refuses to talk about the fact that Ron Paul supporters and potential delegates were recently shut out and even assaulted in Oklahoma and similar problems in Arizona. We know that Obama is not the only problem the mainstream media ( and sadly some of the Catholic Media are also starting to do the same thing). Just tell the truth in the news and forget your own personal opinions. We cannot as a nation something as a Presidential Election can be influenced the GOP and the mainstream media. Judge Andrew is being spoken of as a possible running mate for Ron Paul.
If he was fired a few months ago, why did the Fox News website post an article of his within the past month:
Note the blurb at the bottom of the article where it says, “Andrew P. Napolitano, a former judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey, is the senior judicial analyst at Fox News Channel. ”
Not was, but is the senior judicial analyst at Fox News Channel. I don’t think he was fired when his show on Fox Business network (a separate channel) was cancelled. It was one of about three shows that were cancelled because of low ratings.
I just checked out Judge Napolitano’s Facebook page. The front page states the following:
“Judge Andrew P. Napolitano is Fox News Channel’s Senior Judicial Analyst, providing daily analysis on Fox News and Fox Business”
He also posted this a few months ago when his show was cancelled:
Note that he says nothing about being “fired,” just that his show was cancelled. That’s not the same thing. Just because he’s not hosting his own show doesn’t mean he’s not still the judicial analyst for the Fox News and Fox Business. They still employ him. In fact, he writes: “I will continue to articulate those values here at Fox. But the emails many of you are sending are unfairly interfering with my work and that of my colleagues here.” Which again indicates that he is still working for the network.
Judge Napolitano has not been fired for his opinions. That is an untrue internet rumor.
Here is another truth. His show, Freedom Watch, was the highest-rated show on Fox Business at the time of cancellation. It was very much a political, not business move.
Highest rated on that channel probably isn’t saying much. Does anyone actually watch Fox Business?
At any rate, the point is that he was *not* fired, as this post claims. He is still employed and still offers his opinions on Fox News.
What proof do you have that he actually wrote that article? There is a lot of evidence to suggest that he was murdered for supporting Dr. Paul.
No, no, no. He faked his own death and retired to Fiji where he’s drinking cocktails with Elvis and Andy Kaufman at this very moment. And I can’t tell you how I know that because then I’d have to kill you. :p
But Mark, you’ll be wasting your vote! You’ll be handing the election to Obama! etc etc
And no, SCOTUS judges aren’t a good reason to vote for anyone. It is utterly absurd to concentrate the entire democratic process on nine unelected judges who serve for life. In that case, why not just junk the whole thing for a dictator?
Check out third parties. Find someone who closely aligns with your convictions. Build your communities, states, and churches. Don’t make change for the better dependent upon action from DC. And my two cents: It’s time a for a Catholic party. That’d be even more “radical” than Ron Paul (who has my vote, in spite of the irreconcilable differences with many points of Catholic teaching).
Nice. One of the few things I would deem worth watching if I hadn’t gotten rid of TV awhile ago…
This is what happens in an Oligarchy pretending to be a Republic.
Frater, I fear you are right. I tremble to ponder what happens when the illusion comes crashing down around us.
Make none-existent crashing sounds, I imagine…?
Precisely correct, Brother Gabriel! It has been happening slowly for many decades, and seems to have accelerated markedly in the past 3 decades.
