A chance to do a work of mercy

Tony Nicklinson, a victim of ‘locked-in’ syndrome is being encouraged to choose life via Twitter. He’s previously made a request to a court for assisted suicide, but there’s a lot of encouragement for him not to go through with it (as well as others praising him for ‘seeking his rights’). It doesn’t seem to have got through to him – yet. Oremus.

Encouraging him to choose life is a good thing you can do.

First comment currently shows the central problem:
“If God loves Tony so much why has he made Tony suffer so terribly?”

We’ve lost the value of suffering in our society to the point that people think Tony’s life is worthless, and they’ve convinced him of it too.
