    I think the reason why C. S. Lewis is so compelling and unitive is that the man was practically the embodied tradition. He’d read pretty much everything. He took two degrees from Oxford. He knew the Ancients like the back of his hand, was conversant with the Fathers, wrote books about the Medievals, and read Moderns for fun. As a result, when he talks about Christianity, he’s not just giving one man’s opinion. He’s drawing from the entire Tradition.
