A reader writes:
About this time last year I ordered your “Mary” trilogy. It was really helpful to me in settling my intellectual questions about the Church’s teaching about the Blessed Mother.
I also asked, somewhat diffidently, if you would pray for my conversion. I knew at the time that Protestantism was bankrupt and that the magisterial teaching of the reformers amounted to “solo” scriptura, but I didn’t know if I would ever be given the gift of faith in Christ through the Church. I feared I might end up drifting, an unhappy disillusioned agnostic, much as my parents did in their later years.
Happily I can tell you, should have told you already, that your prayers and my prayers (and the prayers of many other people) were answered. I’m now the happiest, most gut-wrenchingly grateful Catholic ever.
So – thanks, and my heart-felt prayers for the continued effectiveness of this trilogy.
Isn’t it time you came back to New Zealand again?
Glory to God through our Lord Jesus! How wonderful to hear! A thousand welcomes!
And yes, I quite agree that it’s time for me to come back to New Zealand! One of my favorite countries in the world! If anyone in your sceptr’d isle wants me to come speak I’ll be there in a heartbeat! I have dear friends in Pukekohe and I’d love to see them again!
