“Why should I respect the brotherhood of man when I do not accept the Fatherhood of God?” Very well stated.
On a side note, I remember reading Sayers as part of a high school class on social justice, and thinking at the time that she and the class were so much thinly-veiled socialist claptrap. Having since had my ignorance informed by Church teaching (with GKC as the gateway), I now look back on that class very fondly.
Speaking of Sayers, has anyone round these parts seen Gaudy Night at Taproot?
No, but I just finished “The Nine Tailors” on my Kindle. Loved it, and the mystery was almost secondary. It was a wonderful portrait of the type of small, rural English community Rod Dreher would have idealized.
Good stuff. Good stuff. Good stuff. Good stuff. Good stuff. Good stuff. Good stuff. Good stuff. Good stuff. Good stuff. Good stuff. Good stuff. Good stuff. Good stuff.
Ah. “The Nine Tailors”! Thanks for the reminder, as I had had it in mind a few days ago to look up some info on change ringing!
