Obama Campaign to Stupid Pranksters

Thanks for the dough, suckers!

Geniuses at World Nut Daily decide it would be a brilliant idea to throw some money at the Obama campaign by getting a fake Pakistani IP, a fake ID and saying it came from “Osama bin Laden, 911 Jihad Way, Abbottabad, CA 91101.” It, in fact, came from World Nut Daily people from the US, making it a legal donation.

So: Good move, guys. You just proved that you could bilk yourselves out of a few bucks and help Obama. Smart.

    HAHAHAHAHA. What brainiacs.

Doesn’t it also prove that the Obama administration is doing zero due diligence to avoid illegally accepting foreign donations—and therefore that they may well be receiving actual illegal foreign donations? The Romney camp has rejected such spurious donations. Apparently one campaign is making an effort to obey the law, and the other isn’t. Isn’t that worth knowing/reporting?

Those who have been paying attention know that this has been the Obama operation’s consistent practice since at least 2007. Sadly, it’s never mattered to enough people for anything to be done about it.

So no new information here…unless you’re counting proof that WND is full of maroons as news.

True, I remember reports that the Obama ’08 campaign was getting overseas donations but the MSM ignored it. This is business as usual for them; they got away with it the first time so why not try again? Especially since less Americans are donating this time around.

Or it proves that somebody with minimal intelligence could see this was a spoof from an American.

The donations are accepted by computer, not by a human being. A computer doesn’t have the intelligence to recognize a spoof but it should be set to reject any donation that comes from a foreign IP. Apparently, theirs is not.

That’s more than I know. If the computer was registering donations based on zip code rather than IP…

        • Ted Seeber

Depends on the scripting. If the scripting was using a whois lookup instead of just IP Nation Block, then the whois would return a US Zipcode, and thus, the donation would be classified as from the US regardless of the National Block the IP address comes from.
