Via Leah Libresco comes a rather charming take on her baptismal Mass from an atheist friend of hers.  I hope he sticks around.  I like the guy.

    I enjoyed this little sidenote:

    I told Leah that it was nice to have all my terrible stereotypes reinforced by having someone try to convert me to young-Earth creationism the first time I set foot in a church; she confirmed Catholics don’t even believe in young Earth creationism and she had no idea what the guy was doing there. Maybe God just trolls atheists by making sure they encounter argumentative creationists every time they enter a church.

    He seems like he would be a fun guy to hang out with.

    (the anaphora of the Eastern churches make me so jealous ! After VII we adopted our three “mystery of faith” acclamations in imitation of the Eastern practice, but none elevate the mind to the heights of the liturgy as celebrated from ancient times like the Maronite Syriac )
