My Son and Heir

Peter is in Running Start, getting college credit at high school prices. He’s taking a history class and they were studying the struggle between Thomas a Becket and Henry, resulting in Becket’s murder.

Pete went into class early and drew a little picture of the saint on the board, with a sword sticking out of his head. Beneath it he wrote: “There’s a hole in the Becket, dear Liza, dear Liza.”

The prof tries not to let on, but he was quietly amused.

    LOL, that is hilarious!! St. Thomas Becket is my patron saint. I hope he is learning a lot of good stuff about him. St. Thomas had a temper and a mouth and he wasn’t afraid to use it, even in the last moments of his death. Check out Becket the movie with Peter O’Toole and Richard Burton. Its well done but it is a bit haigographical
