    Wow. Given how common depression is in high school, I can’t even imagine what she was thinking. Just…wow.

    In college, I once had to write my own eulogy, but A) the class was a religion course about death, so we knew going in that things were going to get morbid, B) there was actually a point to the assignment since it was a course about death (namely how hard it is to sum up an entire life in two double-spaced pages, especially if you’re doing the typical eulogy thing and romanticizing the dead), and C) the professor told us from the start that we were going to die because a freak asteroid somehow managed to hit us and only us, thus cutting off any possibility that some depressed student would decide that this eulogy was for after his suicide and start thinking down that path. This is just…wow.

    The French government has your children from a very early age–I think as early as age 2, you are highly encouraged to stick them in daycare centers all day. Frightening.
