Leroy Huizinga, who teaches Scripture at the University of St. Mary, writes

I’m speaking Tuesday night (tomorrow already!) at the Argument of the Month Club in South St. Paul on whether the Gospels give us the “real Jesus.” It was supposed to be a debate, but my opponent, Dan Barker of the Freedom From Religion foundation, backed out since the Club is a men’s group; he thought it an exercise in Bronze Age Sexism, I guess, so I’ll be debating an empty chair. For any one in the Twin Cities area who wants to come, it’s in the basement of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 408 3rd St N., South St Paul, MN 55075. $12 gets you wings, jambalaya, and beverages; priests and seminarians free.

Sound like fun!  I envy you!

Argument of the Month Club is great ! (www.aotmclub.com)
We’ve had atheists, homosexuals, fundamentalists, evangelical and even Chestertonians come to debate about topics such as just war, end of life decisions, feminism, catholic educations, economic systems, home schooling. It’s a great venue, kudos to Kent and his associates for this wonderful apostolate.
