i should not be laughing this hard.

I liked “Heart to Heart” too.  RIP, Kenny.  As a fellow native of Everett, Washington, I will miss you.

I think you may have been taken in by dead celebrity fake-out. From what Google tells me Loggins is alive and (soft) rockin’.

Who you gonna believe: Google or the Jehovah’s Witnesses?

      • Stu

I’m confident that Kenny Loggins now sits by an idyllic pond with a goat and bengal tiger by his side.

Hey! We just got that issue recently when our friendly neighborhood JW’s stopped by!

If I had only known it was Kenny Loggins, I would have found much more in common to talk with them about.

(On a more serious note, I was surprised to find that one of their pieces declared much more openly that Jesus was created by Jehovah God. I expected some of their errors to take a little more work to detect.)

The JW bible reads (Jn 1:1): “In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was a god.” Seriously. That’s verbatim.

21 Reasons Why Jesus Cannot Be Jehovah God, The Father:

        • chezami

Correct. He is God the Son.

Where does this expression appear in the Scriptures?

            • chezami

Nowhere. Also not in Scripture: the proposition that only expressions that appear in Scripture describe reality.

Catholics don’t believe in sola scriptura.

Which explains their error. As the article I referenced earlier clarifies, the truth about the nature of Christ’s relationship with Jehovah God is so simple even a child can grasp it and make it their own. Not so with the Gordian knot that is the pagan doctrine of Trinitarianism.

Was it some sort of national (heh) campaign on their part? I got the same flier last week, but tossed it into the recycling before I realized it was about Our Lord and Savior Kenny Loggins.

A Canadian is asking: Who is Kenny Loggins?

    • Marthe Lépine

Sorry, I just checked Wikipedia… I should always do my research before asking questions. However I don’t think that I had ever heard the name or listened to any of his song before. Probably because, when I turn to popular music, it is usually in French.

An Aryan Jesus was fine in medieval art from northern Europe, just as an Asian Jesus or an African Jesus is fine for local use in those areas, but in multi-racial America an Aryan Jesus is a heresy. And it leads to this sort of silliness too.

  • WesleyD

Also, while the JW’s errors regarding Christology and the Trinity are quite serious, I am now wondering about their misconceptions regarding first-century Galilean shampoos and conditioners.

Are you saying Jesus had split ends?
