…from high school. In a couple months, he’ll have his AA from Shoreline CC thanks to Running Start.
We held the graduation for him and 10 other grads of the St. Thomas More Home Educators at St. Joseph’s in Issaquah on Friday with a Mass celebrated by the magnificently named Fr. Todd Strange, a wonderful priest who celebrated (and sang) the Mass beautifully. (I told Fr. Strange afterward he would make an awesome Bond villain. He appreciated that, which just makes him cooler as far as I am concerned).
What moved me most was just those kids and their families. What beautiful, beautiful kids, so handsome, so lovely, so full of promise and bright spirits and hope. I still tear up about it. Every one of them was full of light and their families (including Peter’s) love them and are so proud of them. Gives you hope for the world, you know?
Afterwards, of course, the Catholics demonstrated yet again that we throw the best parties! Saw lots of old friends, cracked jokes, rejoiced.
It was good. Thanks be to God!
