Attention: We are Now Entering the “What Could It Hurt Phase” …

of Molecular Biology.

Yep. Penultimate paragraph – sounds good. Ultimate para – uh…let’s be real careful with that…

      Poor kids.

But that’s never, ever going to happen and you’re a bigot to suggest it would.

Less molecular biology than Synthetic Biology. One of the newest fields out there ( I’m studying in it), and one with the greatest potential (… for good and ill). If you want to read a bit more about innovation in the field, try looking up iGEM, it’s a competition between universities to make novel modifications. (Let’s hope our biosecurity protocols are sufficient. Install death/apoptotic genes in organisms to ensure that they are easily controllable.)

Why am I reminded of Island of Dr Moreau?

I’m more thinking of I Am Legend, personally…

      Exactly!

Now, it seems that scientists will be able to create various species of humans: some will be super-intelligent (the highest class of people), some will be less intelligent, and on down until we get to the slave species that is bred for its capacity to do only what it’s told – like a trained dog.
Nobody will love anyone for who they are but for what they produce. Oh, but wait; that day is already here.

i remember science held great promise in genetically taming bees at one time. they ended up giving them the cutest name “killer” i recall.

I am going to use Homer Simpson here. “(Knowledge), the cause of and solution to all of life’s problems.”

  • Jared Clark

    Well…..shit
