Stupid Francis-Hating Conservative Tricks

Talking Hairdo at Breitbart complains that Francis is helping kids at US border but not persecuted Iraqis.

Yeah. Why doesn’t he unleash some drones or Swiss Guards on ISIS?

Um, your honor, the Pope has no divisions. He can pray (and has) for the persecuted Christians in the Mideast. He can express his love and solidarity with the Chaldean Church (and has). He can support works of mercy on their behalf (and has). But then, you know this don’t you, Your Bought and Paidforness? You and your handlers at Breitbart who are ginning up the troops to go scream at children some more. But since your real job is to advance an agenda of lies, you just don’t care about that, do you? Because your *real* mission is to use Iraqi Christians as human shields while you attack defenseless children and the pope who supports both them and Iraqi Church while you serve secular Malthusians.

The Thing That Used to be Conservatism can’t die fast enough if this is what it now stands for. I’ll take the authentic Catholic faith of our Holy Father over this lying filth any day. Breitbart is Pravda.

Memo to Catholics still struggling to tell the difference between the Faith and the Thing That Used to be Conservatism: “See to it that no one makes a prey of you by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the universe, and not according to Christ.” (Col 2:8). People who lie about the Holy Father in order to use persecuted Christians as human shields for attacking other desperate poor people: pretty much the definition of “empty deceit” and “not according to Christ.”  Dump them and listen to the Church instead.

Conservatives historically had a country club set and an Evangelical set, neither of which were natural companions of Catholics. This changed with abortion politics, Evangelical politicization, and Reagan.

It seems that with Ann Coulter, ongoing complaints about this pope and the last from conservative economic commentaries, and the Evangelical-type conservative populists constantly opposing reasonable Catholic-supported policy, the conservative movement (and what it has become) will break up with Catholic conservatives before Catholic conservatives break up with them.

“Your Holiness the papacy was silent during World War II …” Come again?

And “prayer … [is] just not enough” … all from a self-identified Catholic?

No, really, ideology is poison to right reason and obscures truth.

    • Joe

“No, really, ideology is poison to right reason and obscures truth.”

Best line ever. I try to take a Kirkian approach to my own conservatism, and embracing prudence and rejecting ideology.

pirro is a weed and what she says here is both illogical and agenda driven. OTOH, could we leave off the ‘toots’ and the ‘sweetie’? that’s rightwing language when they’re out to show the base that they have “good old fashioned” gender ideas.

    • Joe

If what you say about “toots” and “sweetie” are true, their use is perfectly appropriate as a combination of both irony and sarcasm.

    • chezami

      Fixed it.

      • Petey

        much better!! : D

Judges are supposed to be smart, right? She doesn’t see the difference between the border situation and the suffering Chaldean Christians? She just assumed that the Church wasn’t doing anything. How nice of Fox to choose a “token Catholic” to criticize the pope.

And the WW2 comment is definitely showing her ignorance about the pope’s response to the Nazis. When the Archbishop of Amsterdam vocally condemned the Nazi atrocities, the Nazis responded by stepping up their search for Jews. This may have contributed to Anne Frank and her family being caught.

    • chezami

She’s smart alright. She’s just a liar and a propagandist.

Man, oh, man. What a crock. That article makes me remember that I have a duty to be charitable, because it would be so easy to not be in my response. I will say, however, that it takes a willful blindness to bash his Holiness on this issue. Just yesterday, he said, “Brothers and sisters, never war, never war! I am thinking above all of children, who are deprived of the hope of a worthwhile life, of a future. [...] Dead children, injured children, mutilated children, orphaned children, children whose toys are things left over from war, children who can’t smile any more”

On July 20, an article appeared commenting that he also prayed for the Christians that were forced from their homes in Iraq(http://bostonherald.com/news_opinion/international/europe/2014/07/pope_expresses_concern_for_iraqi_christians).

When it comes down to it, Pope Francis is the leader of what is essentially a spiritual community. He commands no army, he has no air force. He has the power of prayer. What more does Pirro want? SMH.

A lot of folks are concerned the Secular Left will crush Christianity in the near future. They should be equally wary of the Secular Right.
Over the last six months, I have noted increasing numbers of Christian bloggers who have had it with the Rushbo-Ann-Mike-Glen Axis of bloviating evil, and are standing up for Christian principles even in the face of being named a dreaded RINO.
There are a few websites which are manned by folks with some degree of credibility (The American Conservative , which recently added Patheos’ own Leah Libresco to its staff comes to mind). However, the Fire-eaters and Abolitionists are yet in the majority.
Perhaps if the voice or reason continues, more people will come down off the endorphin high which the bloviators encourage, and leave them to expire in their own poison.

    • Joe

The American Conservative is a nice little oasis in the great Neocon wasteland.

    • Dan C

The secular right is not the threat. It’s the religious right.

Well, you can’t really blame them. Because, you see, there are _eye_witnesses_ to Pope Francis killing and eating babies in Satanic rituals:

      http://youtu.be/9mOQOR8kupk

And, he _has_ declared himself the Antichrist, and Lucifer the Father:

      http://youtu.be/6Jc61xBfcGI

So, you see, it all makes perfect sense. I mean, if you can’t trust random Internet nutcases, you can you trust?

      • Andy

I give them credit for lunacy – where do they come from is always my question.
