Prayer requests and a work of mercy

Prayer requests and a work of mercy April 3, 2015

A reader writes:

My son is in a deep depression. Please pray for him and for us, that we may know what we need to do about it.  He is already under a doctor’s care, but seems to be developing a resistance to the medication.

Father, hear our prayer for his complete healing in body, soul and spirit through Christ our Lord.  Mother Mary, St. Luke, and St. Dymphna, pray for him, his caregivers, and all who love him  Amen.

Another reader writes:

Both you and your readers were very kind to pray for me a number of months ago, I think around November time.

I wonder if I could ask for your prayers again.

I had an exam on Monday which didn’t go as well as I had hoped. I’m scared of failing it and it seems to have triggered a bout of depression and feelings of hopelessness etc ever since. It affects my sleep and general wellbeing. I can’t shake off the feelings that I could have done better if I had had more time in the exam. I would be very grateful for your prayers and those of your readers.

On a more positive note, I have been attending RCIA since November and I will be received into the Church at Pentecost. It is the culmination of a long journey, and your own blog has helped me enormously over the years. Thank you.

On another positive note, after today’s exam (which was ok), I visited Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament which was wonderful.

Praying that you and your family have a blessed Easter.

Father, thank you for this new brother in Christ and for welcoming him to the Table. Give him peace and hope and remind him that he is loved and treasured, whatever his grades are.  Help him to find peace and continue moving forward in the work that you are calling him (and therefore will grace him) to do.  Mother Mary, St. Joseph, and St. Thomas Aquinas, pray for him.  Hear our prayer through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Another reader writes:

please say a prayer for my family this Easter

Father, hear our prayer through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Mother Mary and St. Joseph, pray for them.

Finally, a reader writes:

A prayer request for my cousin, please: Avery is 2 1/2 years old and has heterotaxy– her heart is deformed and she needs several extremely risky surgeries over the course of childhood. She’s just had her two year surgery that seemed to go well, but then for no reason the doctors can tell her heart stopped and she had a seizure that’s lasted for almost a day. She is currently sedated with a machine preforming all of her heart functions, and there is likely to be significant brain damage if she survives.
My cousin’s family are now stranded in the city they had to fly to for Avery’s surgery, as they’re going to have to stay there for much longer than anticipated and no one knows how long. So if any of your readers feel drawn to help with their lodging and transportation expenses, there’s a fundraiser here:

Father, hear our prayer for Avery’s complete healing, for her caregivers to assist in that, and for her family to recieve the provision they need. Mother Mary and St. Luke, pray for them.  We ask that through your Son Jesus Christ.
