Catholic and Enjoying It!
A couple of weeks ago, a bunch of rich people in San Francisco sent the Abp. a letter telling him to shut up, get in line, and not try any of the Catholic moral teaching crap here. The press covered it with the usual “Plucky Rebel Alliance bravely faces Evil Empire” narrative–as though occupying the wealthiest strata of society and completely dominating the media and the state, local, and federal government was like being a Spartan at Thermopylae. Brave, brave rich and powerful people!
However, I am gratified to see that the rank and file in San Francisco have not bought this and are supporting their good archbishop (whose name, I am gratified to report, means “Lion-Heart”).
