Prayer Requests and Works of Mercy May 21, 2015

In your mercy, please see the plight of this family at Assumption Grotto with five young children and baby 6 on the way. The father was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago and it appears to have returned.  The mother was just diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.  Her aunt set up a GoFund Me page to help with expenses.  I know some are unwilling to contribute to any GoFund Me accounts in light of their discrimination against Christians with legal defense funds on social issues.  I too am troubled by this.

In my post, I have suggested people can send money to the family directly if they know them. I suppose they could send a check to Assumption Grotto in Caroline DeLoca’s name.

See my post and consider sharing.  For one parent to have cancer is one thing, but for both is a bit much for anyone to handle.

Te Deum laudamus!: Assumption Grotto family in need as mother AND father deal with cancer

Father, hear our prayer for complete healing and provision for this family, and for grace, compassion, wisdom, counsel, knowledge, creativity, insight, skill, and the proper technology to be given their caregivers to assist in that healing.  Give them and all who love them grace, peace, consolation, strength, faith, hope and love.  And deliver us from a barbarous system that forces a family to busk on the internet to pay for their medical treat and that fills Christians with such blindness about culture war junk that they deny help to a desperate family in order to spite GoFundMe.  Mother Mary, St. Luke, and St. Peregrine, pray for us. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Another reader writes:

Our family is in the middle of some significant decision making about our future.  Specifically, we’re looking to relocate, and are weighing our (many) options about the best place to go.

We wanted to ask especially for prayers, during the celebration of Pentecost, that God open our hearts to His message and His will for us, and that He lead us to the place He’s prepared for us.

Father, hear our prayer through your Son Jesus Christ.  Mary, Seat of Wisdom, pray for them.  Holy Spirit, enlighten them to know and do the Father’s will.

Another reader writes to ask prayers of thankgiving for Fr. Robert Barron’s successful emergency appendectomy.  Indeed, thanks be to God through our Lord Jesus Christ for his mercy and lovingkindness.  Grant him long life, Father, and many fruitful years in your Vineyard.
