Prayer Requests and a Work of Mercy

Prayer Requests and a Work of Mercy December 24, 2015

A reader writes:

Urgent prayers requested for a baby born to a Vineyard couple on Monday. Tomorrow (Christmas Day) is an important, determining day for this baby. Praying for a Christmas miracle.

Father, hear our prayer for this little one’s complete healing in body, soul, and spirit. Give this child’s caregivers grace, compassion, wisdom, counsel, knowledge, understanding, skill, creativity, insight, and the proper technology to assist in that healing and give this child and all who love this child grace, peace, consolation, strength, faith, hope, and love through Jesus Christ our Lord. Mother Mary, St. Joseph and St. Luke, pray for them all.

Also, the Knights of Columbus write:

Brother Knights,

Christians in the Middle East face persecution simply for their belief in the one who taught us to love one another. Despite the genocidal persecution against them, they continue to be an inspiration as they remain true to their faith and bear witness to the love of God and neighbor. Yet, regardless of their great witness, they need solidarity and support.

One way we are helping is through the Knights of Columbus Christian Refugee Relief Fund, which has contributed more than $4.5 million. These contributions have provided food, clothing, shelter and medical care to refugees. Individuals can contribute to this fund by visiting christiansatrisk.org and making a direct contribution.

Along with financial support, Knights and their families are encouraged to pray for persecuted Christians. To aid in this, the new Prayer for Persecuted Christians prayer card (#10340) is now available. This prayer card is available in packs of 100 cards for $3 per order, shipping charges included, and can be obtained by sending a completed Form #1 to the Supply Dept. via mail, fax (800-266-6340), or email to supply@kofc.org. You may also order the cards by mailing a check, payable to the Knights of Columbus and addressed to: Knights of Columbus, Supply Department, 78 Meadow Street, New Haven, CT 06519.

Father, hear our prayer for your suffering Church and help us to provide them with aid and succor in this hour through your Son Jesus Christ.  Mother Mary, pray for them!
