Catholic and Enjoying It!
The Obama Administration has announced that it will end the use of private for-profit prisons, one of the most pernicious developments in American history over the past few decades. It, in combination with a war on drugs targeting minorities and such monstrous things as this (now jailed) judge who made a fortune selling kids into the prison system, has helped turn the Land of the Free into gulag bigger than Stalin’s.
Bravo!
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to bring good tidings to the afflicted;
he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
to proclaim the year of the LORD’S favor (Is 61:1–2).
