Sr. Theophilus is a budding writer November 26, 2016

She’s a new sister with the Immaculate Heart of Mary Benedictine Monastery in Westfield, Vermont (she’s the first picture on their Oblates page).

She’s writing two sites:

The first is entitled “A Life Worth Living” and is a collection of some fiction, poetry, and spiritual reflection and commentary (it’s really God’s blog and whatever He inspires that I should post).

The second is very different and, to be completely honest, very behind at the moment. It’s called “The Chronicles of Benedict Fairy,” and is an attempt at an episodic children’s story that will eventually include hyperlinks to little tidbits (for example, information about St. Benedict, whom the main character is based off of, but will also have links for “difficult vocabulary”–like the word “cacophony” and links to science info when different species of birds and animals are mentioned–ideally with pictures and bird calls, etc). I’m hoping it could become an interdisciplinary tool for Catholic homeschool parents and families. My idealized picture is that parents would sit around with their children reading the story from the iPad and allowing the children to click the various links and look at the pictures. Like an interactive storybook.
