Two Prayer Requests

Two Prayer Requests February 24, 2017

A reader writes:

Hi Mark, I just wanted to ask for some prayers. I’m waiting in a medical office to have tests done to find out if I have cancer, and I’m moderately scared out of my wits. I haven’t told anyone because I don’t want them to worry needlessly if it should prove to be nothing.

Could you please pray for my wife and kids, for strength and comfort for them if the tests come back positive, and for me to comport myself with courage for them, come what may?

Thank you.

Of course. God grant you complete health in body, soul, and spirit through Christ our Lord. And God grant your caregivers grace, compassion, wisdom, counsel, understanding, creativity, insight, skill, and the proper technology to assist in your healing. May he give you and all who love you grace, peace, consolation, strength, faith, hope and love. Mother Mary, St. Luke and St. Peregrine, pray for them all. We ask this through your Son Jesus Christ. Amen.

Update: he writes back with glad news!:

Good news! No abnormal tissue found, it’s a probable hematoma that should resolve itself. Follow up with an ultrasound in three months time!

Thanks be to God our Father through our Lord Jesus Christ!

Another reader writes:

I could use some prayers if you can spare them. Husband still out of work. I am struggling with my health and a failed surgery last year.

Father, hear our prayer for my reader’s complete healing in body, soul, and spirit through Christ our Lord. And God grant her caregivers grace, compassion, wisdom, counsel, understanding, creativity, insight, skill, and the proper technology to assist in your healing. May he give you and all who love you grace, peace, consolation, strength, faith, hope and love. And may he swiftly give a job at a living wage to her husband. Mother Mary, St. Luke and St. Joseph, pray for them all. We ask this through your Son Jesus Christ. Amen.
