which featured the amazing “Patriotic Rosary”.

Well, a reader went out and found some background on it:

Available at the Diocese of Metuchen, NJ, where it is apparently prayed in Parishes.

November 10 at 7:30 p.m.
Patriotic Rosary
St. Magdalen de Pazzi Parish, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ

The authorship is interesting, as is the organization distributing it.

“Caritas of Birmingham is a mission located about 20 miles southeast of Birmingham, Alabama. The mission is biblically based, is multi-purposed, serving many areas for the evangelization of the world through the messages of the Virgin Mary given in Medjugorje as the Queen of Peace.”

“Caritas of Birmingham business still drains millions of dollars from gullible Catholics in donations. In recent years, it was annually $3-4 millions, according to words of the leader of Caritas of Birmingham, self-styled “A Friend of Medjugorje”, Terry Colafrancesco in 2011.”

“A lawsuit filed by former residents and families of residents accused Colafrancesco of enticing devout Catholics to the complex, draining their assets and keeping them from their loved ones. The suit was settled privately.

A self-proclaimed ‘cult fighter’ in California lost his bid to shut Caritas of Birmingham down and was ordered to pay the organization more than $2 million in 2006 for his continued pursuit and criticism of it, according to court records.

Colafrancesco brushes off the criticism. ‘A cult is a belief in something,’ he said.

A 2009 tax filing listed nearly $6 million in assets and nearly $4 million in income for the organization, which Colafrancesco says runs on many small donations.”

My two cents:  “Why someone who writes for WaPo can’t dig this up, when I did it in 7 minutes, says a lot about the state of leftism in America.”

Well, to be fair the piece I linked last time as an editorial, not a news story.  But yeah, you’d think somebody closer than the Daily Mail (and more of a real paper) would want to follow up on a story about Catholic Big Cheeses praying the “Patriotic Rosary” in Trump Tower. And that tie in with the fraud that is Medjugorje seems like a natural for the WaPo.  But then again, when it comes to religion I always deduct IQ point from the MSM and when it comes to reporting on the Catholic Church I double the deduction.
