Way to Go, Rick Steves

My neighbor the Travel Guru gives four million samoleons to house dozens of homeless women and kids.

I’m pretty sure he’s not a Christian (judging from some of the commentary on his shows). But guess what? Neither are any of the people in the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats. That’s the point of the parable: it’s about the judgment of the Nations–the goyim, the people outside the visible covenant people. That’s why they are all, sheep and goats, surprised by the judgement and ask, “When did we see you hungry, thirsty, naked, sick, in prison, etc?” They had no clue that what they were doing or not doing was being done or not done to the King. They just thought they were a) doing the decent thing or b) blowing off some losers who didn’t matter in the Grand Scheme of Things.

Rick Steves did the decent thing. If he has not yet made the connection between those women and kids and the King, the King certainly has and that is a hope sign for Steves when he–as he surely will–meets the King on That Day.

I love those matching gift thingies. Get more bang for the buck, more rubble for the ruble, more tons for the pound, more slurpee for the rupee, more gyros for the Euro.
