Fresh Expressions U.S. Has a New Facebook Page and National Gathering in March 2014 September 26, 2013

Fresh Expressions U.S. is, quite simply, the U.S. expression of the Fresh Expressions movement, which started in the U.K. and has since expanded.

Fresh Expressions is, by definition, a church growth movement. Where “emerging church” was a term that no longer held currency, the term “fresh expression” began to gain traction.

To be clear, not all new churches formed out of the “fresh expressions” movement would be considered “missional.” But a good number of them are. And while Fresh Expressions U.S. appears to be fairly closely aligned with the conservative evangelical movement — with only two partnerships (Baptist General Association of Virginia and Ecclesia Network) — I’ll be interested to see if/when the leadership decides to expand its partnerships to other related networks/groups.

For now, Fresh Expressions U.S. has a new Facebook page for the public to follow its activities, and its next national gathering is scheduled for March 28-29, 2014, in Alexandria, Va.

What’s your impression of Fresh Expressions in the U.S. and/or the U.K.?
