I admire the bravery of these women, but if there were other options I don't think these women would choose DEATH- I honestly can't believe how someone can defend strapping a bomb to yourself and ended yours/others lives as a "political choice". And believe me, I do sympathize with and respect these women.

Women can be used in the military but I don't see these female suicide bombers, or women fighting in these cases, as furthering the cause of women's rights. as soon as the war/conflict is over, men and society will go back to seeing them in the same way as before. These women aren't respected comrades in arms like fellow men are to the male fighters. They don't play a major role in armed combat (the normal kind where they don't blow themselves up). To me, female suicide bombers = just another way to exploit women. Some organizations use the women because they know it'll make a bigger impact if a woman does than if a man does it, which is true for now. The women come to their decision to do such a thing on their own, but men still use this to exploit them. They further a cause for people who don't give a damn about the women, or their rights.

<i>"If women could die for causes like men, shouldn't they have the same rights as men? "</i>Nicely said. As a Muslimah, I am SO FREAKIN SICK of the Western media always trying to focus on Muslim female suicide bombers like they're victims, that they're so emotional and helpless and weak... when in fact many of them probably did it for POLITICAL reasons!!!WHY CAN'T THE MEDIA ACCEPT THE FACT THAT THERE ARE MUSLIM WOMEN WHO CAN THINK FOR THEMSELVES AND MAKE POLITICAL CHOICES?!?!?Also, your article was just linked on Jezebel. Some idiot commentator made a first comment about 72 virgins. Ugh, why can't people stfu about 72 virgins?
