This was written by a Muslim woman. It is her own representation of herself as the “good” Muslim – the one non-Muslims can trust, as opposed to anyone who doesn’t agree with her, aka “bad” Muslims – the ones non-Muslims shouldn’t trust.

Yes. Put more explicitly, CIC et. al. were not asking for any modifications of the existing laws. The laws that were already in place actually allowed Muslims to do this. The laws were actually changed in response to prevent this from happening (at which point those Jews and Christians lost their courts).

At least that’s how I know it – I’m not in Canada.

Nice piece. Perhaps you should publish it in a place where it will get more exposure.

Speaking of which, I must have missed where this article was about Muslimahs…?
