I'm not totally against them, I mean it's refreashing to hear an Islamic group not aganist gay marrige and such...but a Niqab ban? Come on. I wonder if Tariq Fateh sees the irony in whiel condeming the niqab as using womens bodies for political statement, in banning them he's doing the same thing? Why dosn't he just let Muslim women dress them selfs? I'm sure niqabi think throght all the challenges that wearing it will bring before they put it on. Dosn't the MCC realize that in doing this they are just making life alot harder for feminist Muslimahs in Canada? The MCC has gone to far. I wasn't aware of that. I wondered who this Muslim Canadian Congress group is and what sort of reputation they have in the Canadian Muslim community. One thing that I've been grateful for is that we still have some freedom in North America to wear hijab and niqaab and so it really disturbs me when whenever someone comes along and tries to stir the pot and remove our rights.
