This book has been on my wish list for some time now. I was afraid to buy it (and it's not at my local library). Thanks for the review.

I'm a little bit confused about this book just from looking at the table of contents. Some of the Iranian women's are listed last name first and others are listed first name first. Maybe I'm just dyslexic...

This is a very solid piece that does exactly what I look for in a book review--not just help me decide whether I want to read it, but provide the book with context so I can understand not only its strengths and weaknesses, but the wider context in which the book appears. Very nice to see it here (and to see it was originally published in a non-Muslim-specific publication).

That bit about omitting the introductions to Canada, France, and the US is particularly damning.
