  1. Oh, forgot to tell you, this year the longlist for the International Prize for Arabic Fiction (“Arabic Booker”) is nearly 50-50: 7 women and 9 men:

    Isn’t the one about the Jewish father a much older story? It even refers to Sarkozy as Interior Minister.

    @Tec15: That story is dated as October 2010, but you’re right, it sounds like it might have been orinally written much earlier… (That or the journalist has very outdated information about the French govermnent!)
